Now in its third year of opening, the Revive Coffee shop has become a popular place to meet with friends, drink great coffee and eat scrumptious food. Not only does the coffee taste good, it is ethically traded and all the cakes, scones and tray-bakes are hand-made on site. Our Chef is Alison, assistant Chef Ellen, and the rest of the team is staffed by volunteers. The menus are available at the bottom of this page.
For those hot summer days which are on their way we have introduced a new range of smoothies and frappes, with other flavours coming online soon.
The Coffee we have chosen to use at Revive Coffee Shop is ‘Fireside’. It’s a blend of beans which have been fairly traded from grower to cup. They are grown and roasted by women which is highly usually in the coffee industry. Fireside is a blend is made up of 100% arabica beans from Brazil Portal De Serra, Guatemala & Nicaragua. The buyer gives a percentage of his profits to people who who were affected by the Rwandan genocide,
a country well known for its coffee.
Revive uses its own garden to grow salad and other fresh produce for use (seasonally) in the menu. Our volunteer gardeners work hard to be a main supplier of vegetables to the coffee shop through the summer months. Revive uses local and seasonal products wherever possible all year long, in order to further reduce our carbon footprint and to help support local business. We have also been able open our garden space to others in the local community and have installed solar panels which provides a lot of our power. In addition to all of this, we also have two full beehives on site and we use the honey the bees produce in the coffee shop.
Each week alongside our regular menu there are ‘specials’ created by our chef, taking on board our customers requests for gluten free and vegan alternatives.
Revive is also happy to cater for any groups using our facilities, up to 60 people (booked in advance).
