It’s amazing to realise we are fast approaching the three year anniversary of Revive Coffee Shop at St Martin’s Church opening. We always wanted it to be a warm, welcoming space to bring community together and serve great coffee and fabulous quality home-cooked, locally sourced food (some home grown even!) at affordable prices, and for it to be a blessing to Finham (and beyond!).
Well, three years on and Revive has far exceeded our hopes, it has become so popular we have needed to add more tables, employ a second chef and increase our amazing team of volunteers (without whom we couldn’t possibly run).
Price Increases
Unfortunately though, with that incredible increase in business has come an unexpected ‘blessing’, in that we have crashed through the VAT barrier! Thank you so much everyone for supporting Revive over these past three years, and for helping to make it the success that it is. However, it means that we have had to make the difficult decision to increase our prices this year, to cover the costs of needing to be VAT registered as a business. We are not looking to make huge profits, it has never been our aim for Revive, and so all price increases have been kept to the minimum possible to cover costs and still be able to pay our incredible chefs, with hopefully the addition now of a paid barrista too (watch this space for more news of that upcoming job opportunity). So, yes, our prices are about to increase, a little, but we aim to remain affordable and reasonable for all the excellent quality food and drink served here at Revive, we hope you will continue to come and enjoy the space we have created to relax and spend time with loved ones and friends, even meeting new friends here.
More Volunteers Needed
We are also needing more volunteers to come and help share the load! Do you have a couple of hours (or more) to spare once a week? Revive is open Tuesday – Friday, 9am – 2pm, and Saturdays 9.30am – 12.30pm. We need team members willing to do some or all of the following: wash up, serve food out front, clear tables, learn how to use the till, learn barrista skills and help with the big daily clean up after we close. You will need a sense of humour and a readiness to face whatever each new day at Revive might bring. A DBS check, food and hygiene training and safeguarding training are required for all of our volunteers. We would love to have you!
